I know this may be a stupid question, but red modules confuse me.

So, is it possible to mount third party v-mount batteries (such as switronix) on the Raven's Base I/O V-Lock?

Or is there a way to get SDI, HDMI, D-TAP, and power in, WITHOUT the I/O V-Lock expander?

Thanks!

Yes, you can mount third-party V-Mount batteries to the Base I/O's V-Lock expander. There is some debate about whether some of the I/O ports will be blocked by batteries that happen to be wider than the Red Brick (which is 3.54 in. wide). I haven't read about any real-world applications to see if this is true or not, but something to be wary about. Also, depending on which V-Mount you choose, some handles many or may not work, as the battery might "get in the way"... thus why the new Universal Handle was made, which is shorter and stubbier to fit between a monitor and battery.

If you're looking for a different expander that has similar functionality, then you could go with the Redvolt Expander, though you're looking at several thousand more than the Base I/O...

Thanks, I'll take the wide factor into consideration.
