Stunning images 4 x 5 Kodachromes from WW2

[Scott Brown]

I know technology has evolved beyond belief in recent years BUT just take a look at these 4 x 5 Kodachromes shot during WW2 and give your eyes a treat - watch the use of light throughout, just beautiful and the level of detail is incredible.

Some of these images remind of the early RED One footage that Jim shot - anyone remember the "milk girls" footage? I think this one of first samples RED released.

Good that you guys like the images as they made the hairs on my neck stand up when I saw them.

For me WWII has mostly been a black-and-white experience. These photos seem surreal.

I haven't been drawn into photographs, that deeply, for a long time. Amazing. As Elsie says, they seem surreal.

There's something about historic photography that always captures my attention. And to see it in such quality, just amazes me.

Scott, I remember those photos. You're right.

[Andreas Mendritzki]

Wow. Thanks for posting.

Always a strange feeling seeing both : beauty and a glimpse of horror in the same picture.

Great post. Thank you for sharing. I kept looking for a photo of my Mom. She worked at Douglas Aircraft in L.A. installing antennas on dive bombers. I guess she did live in a world with nice bright colors... Thank you Kodachrome.

it's as if there has been hardly any improvement in quality over the years, just in ease of use of the camera
