Entertaining offers over 10K for mint shape Cooke 18-90 T 2.8 lens.

PM me if interested.

Should be noted that the 18-90 is the highly desirable Technovision modified version of the 20-100. Not very common and it's truly a wonderful lens.

Finner, does yours actually test out at T2.8? Some of these don't.

Either way, they're great lenses.

Finner is selling lots of stuff lately. something big going on?

Jeff, what do you base this on?

btw- Mine is marked 2.3 and is a later serial number than Finners. Do you know someone who actually tested the stop and came up with different results or is this all a rumor that continues to grow. Lenses are rarely mismarked, but its very easy for someone to post a comment on a forum and then it becomes "factual" as it spreads.

I can see where T2.8 and T2.3 could be a mistake, but why would the later serial number have the faster stop/engraving? If the earlier lens was engraved T2.3 it would make more sense.

Regardless, here is some info on the lens:

The lens was originally a Cooke 20-100 T3 lens that was modified by Technovision in Italy (they were like Panavision today). They did several mods including in some case replacing the elements (not sure on the 18-90), adding elements, increasing the wide end and greater stops. They were most famous for their Anamorphic mods.
The biggest fan of the Techno lenses (especially the anamorphic) was Storaro, who advertised them for Technovision and used them on alot of his work.

Based on what? I have a Technovision 25-250 t 2.3. I have a hard time believing Technovision lied, or fucked up when renting lenses to major motion pictures.

Finner, that's the one you had at the LART and that everyone thought was really, REALLY nice, wasn't it?

Hope someone pays you quickly and fairly so you aren't forced to use it as a club to defend yourself in the labor camps.
