Hi, I am taking courses on directing and use the school's Sony HVR and final cut for class. I am looking at using Red for a friends music video. As I have never done a music video, I am looking for advice on using a Red Camera and the process of creating a video. The shoot would be at sunset into night. The school provides great theory but I looking for real applications. I would be greatly appreciate any advice or comments. Thanks Den

Den,

Welcome to the group! These links will take you to the a $300 budget video (craft service mainly). It was the first music video directed by my son after graduating from film school, two weeks after to be exact. All shot in less that 6 hours (9:00 pm to 3:00 am), edited by my son, and graded by myself.

This is for Vimeo (best quality): http://www.vimeo.com/10766594 and the password is: "39Stripes".

Also it is already posted by the band on YouTube:

Needless to say, it needed to be limited in scope, and many other really good ideas were not shot due to time and budget constrains. However, it will be the video theme for the release of the 4th album of the Christian band 39 Stripes.

So, if you need some specifics, just send me a private message. We will be glad to exchange any ideas.

Hopefully you will enjoy it! :lurk5:
