I ordered my R1BT 11/9 and still no word on the camera itself.
I was also told that my bricks would go through shipping
regardless of them being classified as dangerous goods.
The bricks were even shipped before it was realised it wouldnt go through.

Closing in on 6 weeks since my order was placed, I can understand that stuff happen, but double the time?
I have also seen people who ordered 3-4 days after me have already gotten their camera body delivered.
And mine is not even allocated, that makes it a lot more frustrating.
And now I probably have to wait for you guys to figure out how to get me the bricks also.

Not to sound whiney or anything, I truly appreciate the good buy, but we all have gigs lined up.
I had no problem being patient at first but I have to admit I`m starting to lose it.

This is something you would want to talk directly to your bomb rep about. Your gonna get a better answer from the source then from the crowd.

I thought I could get some faster replies here, but you`re right.
Thanks for your time!

Yeah. I think we understand your view. It is taking longer then normal but perhaps these BT situations were trickier then thought. I'm sure that if they did all the work to get them ready prior to the announcement, word would leak and that's probably what Red didn't want. So the wait is on.

Keep being patient. It is for the most part all you can do. Just keep thinking that your R1 is being thoroughly tested and the added time will make it worth it... I know that's hard to swallow (after so long) but it helps.

Your Bomb Squad rep hopefully is working with you on finding out a new ETA. They must be near the end of the backlog.

Hi Stian,

RED has been pretty open on the forums regarding BT process times, we estimated 2-3 weeks. The estimates were a based on the volume orders and through put of our QC procedure. QC is not something we will rush regardless if someone is paying $20,000 or $4000.00 we want to make sure the camera is in the best condition as possible. I hope you can understand that. Based on the volume of cameras we are pushing out daily your camera should be coming out any day.

In regards to the order of process and your DG I will look into that personally and see what happen.

Best Regards,

Michael

Thanks a lot for your time Michael!
I really appreciate you looking into it!

Thanks to you too Wil Wong!
You are absolutely right, I was just about to lose my cool, thats all.

Having waited for my R1 from 2006 to 2008, I can totally understand ypur anxiousness...

Good thing is:
There's good fun in store for you...

Cheers

Are you in Oslo?

Brandon, there is absolutely no reason to make this a personal thing. If a newcomer to this board expresses a valid concern, it is not whining. Yes, us RED veterans know that shipping times can at times be very flexible, and we are used to having to be patient. But Stian's post simply expresses a concern, and he has every right to do so. Calling him names is not the way to go, and not the way we want to see redusers treat other redusers.

Thanks.

I called him no names, simply agreed with his initial thoughts about posting.
