I am having to deal with some footage that was shot incorrectly under florescent lights at something like 90 fps 2K. Now the footage is strobing.

Any thoughts on how this could possibly be fixed in post?

AE has a flicker-fixing filter, if I remember correctly it's called "flicker removal" not 100% but it helped.

I am afraid the flicker problem in my experience is not totally fixable. The best result thus far has been through the Nuke plugin DeFlicker. Still, even that is totally inadequate when you have a shutter speed greater than 1/90th.

The answer depends largely on the matearial and the strobe effect...

You could try to create a 2 layer comp, the lower layer being brighter than the upper. create a highly feathered and animated subtraction mask that matches the strobe. If you get this close enough then you could possible lay something 'artistic' over it to smooth it out (like a vignette).
