Strange Problem With Final Cut

Hello Red User Alumni, my name is Kevin. I have been encountering a very puzzling problem with final cut. I have been using the proxies to edit my clips, but after 5 minutes (sometimes a lot less than that) I get the fatal color wheel and I have to force quit Final Cut. I don't get this problem when I export files from Red Cine or Red Alert into Final Cut, only when I use the proxies. I am on build 16 and I have updated final cut with the latest updates from red. Does anyone have any Idea why this would be happening?

What are your system specs? What kind of drive is the footage stored on, Internal, or external, and what speed is it?

If your using external disks, maybe one of them fell asleep, and that craches the firewire driver?

Hey everyone, sorry about the late reply. thanks to you guys I did figure out the problem, it was indeed my external hard drive, which I will only be using for storage from now on. Thanks again for your help.
