I guess they are all strange.

Anyone ever hear of SGB, or Spontaneous Glass Breakage? It's when a piece of glass just suddenly explodes for no reason (actually the reasons vary and are somewhat complex-ish). A few years ago I was washing dishes, and glass in the rack - it had been there a day - suddenly just exploded. It didn't just fizzle and crack, it blew to pieces. When my partner asked what happened to the (missing) glass, I explained what happened.

Yeah, right, my love. No, I swear!

Last night we were both standing under a beam where we display empty bottles, when suddenly one blew to fricken smiterenes. I told her that's exactly what happened a few years back. Just BAM! Weird businenss. Should I consider myself lucky to have witnessed it twice?

Anyone seen it? Ever happen to lenses?

Never heard anything similar. Perhaps a paranormal phenomenon, who knows? ;-)

We had a tempered glass cover for our dining table explode spontaneously. It was very loud and it burst into hundreds of thousands of pieces. I guessed that it was a series of stretches as the wood underneath it shrank and grew in the temperature variances over a period of time.

I'm vague on this story as it was a long time ago I read it. But sometime around WWI there was a European, Frenchman I think, who was working on using sound as a weapon. Succeeded in blowing things up with it. But one experiment went awry and almost killed him and his assistants, so he stopped his work on sound as a weapon.

Not saying DARPA is testing in your area, but maybe Nature is?

My advice to you is if everything glass around you starts shattering, wrap yourself in tinfoil (use aluminum foil if you are modern) or run to your lead-lined safe room. Alternatively if you have your affairs in order, just stand there and be melted or exploded.

If this is in fact a DARPA experiment gone bad, a hundred years from now when things like this are declassified, your name will be famous and you will not have had to go out and kill a bunch of innocent people in a search for notorious fame.
