When I open log and transfer, I get an error that says the transfer path for the project is invalid,

The footage is on an external drive.

I opened other footage from another drive and it worked perfectly. is there a trick with path settings anyone knows about.

I am confused,
see when I open the exact folder with the r3d files everything is greyed out like Fcp does not recognize any file, really strange.
but I try the same thing with other stuff i already edited and its sees the r3ds just fine,

please help

Two more things to watch out for:

Don't change the parent folders name from what was written by the Red One (the .RDM folder).
Choose that parent folders path, not the single clip's parent folder (the .RDC folder).

what is the workaround if this folder was changed? (.rdm)
what could we do?
I noticed two folders are missing the Rdm info

Name them with an unique name plus .RDM, following their scheme. As the whitepaper states, you should always copy the entire contents of the mag and never change the names. FCP needs them to conform.
You can always change a clips name inside FCP and you can always use a higher order folder to organize your footage.
