  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

stormtrooper - move from BMC 6k pro

I shoot on the Red Epic Dragon 6k and last year I picked up the BMC 6k pro for some light carrying shots since the wait for the Komodo was months. Now that it much easier to get the Komodo and that I'm not even close to anyone else knowledge on the Komodo that I'm going to see what I can find here on this forum for answers.

I notice as I look on EBAY for used ones that there is the normal Black Case and then there are the White Case which are called StormTrooper. Are both camera the same? Would the StormTrooper be one to grab that may or (might) keep themselves as a good investment? what is a fair price for a used one with low hours on either Komodo's?

The two colors are identical in terms of functions and capabilities. Only the body colors are different.

I've seen used Komodo's going for as low as $5,000 in the Adorama or BHPhoto used sections. I would say that's a decent price for a used one for the body only. I would be wary of anyone selling them on ebay or any other peer to peer selling platform for much, much cheaper than that.

You will see people trying to bundle the body with other accessories for more money, but it all depends on what you already have in terms of media, monitoring, batteries, etc. and if you need to spend more to get that stuff.
