  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

STORMTROOPER 33 w/ MONSTRO VV

RED put 4K+ in our reach and in our hands. Arri pushes RED color science to improve. Competition that works for us . . . wish we enjoyed this in our ISP offerings

Jacob, thanks for the info. Now you have had a little time with the 8Kvv Monstro sensor do you have any other thoughts or comparisons..Im about to send off my camera for the the Big M upgrade and kind of on the fence about loosing some of the S35 8K cool things. Honestly I will be looking forward to getting back to shooting high speed things at some of the lower rez'es... if thats a word...but still kind of feeling that hold on just a min before you just say buy to the Helium you might want to hear from a few about the new sensor.
I unfortunately don't have a second camera to drop my Helium sensor in to so Im kind of all in. I do a lot of big open spaces but I also need that 150fps plus now and then...

I know a lot of us are thinking about the 6K and what that looks like. I for one would like to see some of that 2K high speed work you were talking about early in this posting.
Thanks for giving us a first impression and Ill probably try to do the same when I get my camera back.

Crossing my fingers this remains a Monstro discussion and not another Arri versus Red discussion, as fun as those are... Congrats, Jacob! Love my Red Weapon CF Helium, but slightly bummed the ISO change showed my noise levels weren't as big a leap from Dragon as I originally thought. Very excited to see how Monstro compares!

This is so super exciting! I can't wait to one day upgrade to the monstro. Ever since I picked up an A7s a few years back... I fell in love with the full frame look for cinema. It's just so good.

Jacob, have you thrown on any of the new Sigma Cine Primes on it yet? If not, I don't know if you have any, I could bring my set over and we can have some fun... haha. I'm in the SLC area.

No come by tomorrow and lets take a look at them, someone stopped by and tried out the Photo Version but I've been debating about getting a set actually.
