So I'm still backordered on my Red-Drive and 2 16 GB CF cards for like 2 months now.

I'm wondering what would you guys suggest can be done to get some storage going today?

It´s either rent or get 8Gb cards for now, I do think the RED Drives are off back-order, so maybe just check with your BOMB squad rep.

best of luck!

Any solution I can take care of on my own like, today?

Can I hook the camera to another storage solution, or buy off the shelf 8 GB cards?

The drives should be available no problem. I got mine with my camera in Dec, all 4 of them.

Check with your Bomb squad, they should be able to ship next day air for you

My rep says that yes, they were out of backorder and are now back in..... poor me :)

Edit:

He said he will take care of it and send it tonight for delivery tomorrow. I wish more companies would act like this and take responsibility for goofing and fix the goof before it even becomes an issue. So many other companies would just make excuses and say "Sorry but that's the way it is" (would they even say sorry?).

Thanks RED

If anyone else gets into a squeeze like this there are 8Gb cards made by Lexar that will work off the shelf with the RED ONE.

Pretty sure it´s faster than a 133x, i think it´s a 300x at least.
Wasn´t there a restriction for non-RED CF Cards with build 17 that one can shoot only 2k on these non-RED Cards ?

Defiantly good to know but im more wanting to make sure that this drive will read the Red Cards.

Its quite possible that im just being paranoid and everything is fine but then again im paid to be paranoid so....

Oh and for the record we a shooting 4K 2:1 @24

Thanks

Its the Lexar Professional UDMA FireWire 800 Reader. As I have been browsing the threads on this I have discovered that Lexar actually makes the Red Cards but I want to be sure.

Here is the link to the product site http://www.lexar.com/readers/pro_udma_reader.html

I'm using this reader here - it works great. I've had two people tell me that the Hoodman one is faster for 16GB cards, though. Can't test, I'm still waiting on my 16GB cards... Heh. I have RED-RAM, but no 16GB cards. That's messed up.

LOL, thanks Jeff, ill look into the Hoodman reader as well. Why are you buying more cards when you have a Red-Ram sitting there?:)
