I need information on record time in an ENG/EFP configuration. More importantly, is there a detailed database which explains how Red records and transfers its data? How much time, onboard or otherwise per each type of storage option available on the Red website. What is the benefit or detriment of each. How do you interface with edit systems on set, etc...

Thanks for your help.

Redcode raw 4K runs at about 27mb/sec. They are getting about 4.5 minutes on the CF cards they are using to record on set on the movie "test shoots" they are doing.

Red Drives are 320 MB so you are looking at about 3.5 -4 hours depending on the frame rate you shoot.

YOu should read some of the other threads as RED might ot be the best choice for ENG style shooting.

RedDrive: *320GB

Plan on 100GB an hour.

There also might be an esata flash option in the future. Exact size is still unknown but it's likely to be between 50 and 150 GB
