Hey,

I've been asked by Picture This Production Services to post information regarding the theft of their camera recently in Portland, Oregon.

Here's the information I've been given by AJ McClary, their equipment room manager:

---

Below is the missing list of equipment. It was picked up on December 17th from the equipment room and was due to arrive on December 20th. Unfortunately the camera was stolen out of the renters car on the morning it was to be returned.

RED 1 Camera Body # 0797

Carl Zeiss Distagon 1.2/18mm SN: Nr6194683
Carl Zeiss Distagon 1.2/25m SN: Nr5769181
Carl Zeiss Distagon 1.2/35mm SN: Nr6130819
Carl Zeiss Planar 1.3/50mm SN: Nr5767733
Carl Zeiss Planar 1.4/85mm SN: Nr5969274

---

If anyone has information please either PM me or email AJ: ajmc@pixthis.com

The B-Speed prime set is quite distinctive in that the bokeh is triangular. Also the case is marked with a "4K" tag (among others).

Thanks,

Who leaves this much gear in their CAR???

The database consists of almost 100% theft from CARS people.

We will look out for it here

Right Tim? who does that? and how many thefts happen that way? Im sure the adjuster is just going to hang up !!! Mind boggleing...
better question is what is happening with all these bodies? where do they all go? cant insure cant upgrade...im confused.
shit maybe Arri is behind it....just kidding

Caveat Beware

Caveat Beware

Due to the number of thefts from cars some policys specifically exclude coverage in these situations. Check you policy and frankly camera gear left in motor vehicles is just stupid. My car is caged and alarmed at the back and is never left out of view when loaded for more than a few minutes.

Does anyone know Reds attitude to a Red camera owner whose camera is stolen and is in Stage 3 for Epic but will no longer have a camera to swap back???

Good question Tom. I'm guessing bad luck, not really reds problem.

Cars are used to move gear from point A to point B. It's possible the car was loaded up for a trip, the person ran inside to get something, and the perps were watching and waiting. The lift could have happened in as quick as 45 seconds.

Now before everyone gets self-rightous and says "They should have left someone in the car at all times, I am willing to bet that everyone has left something inside and run in to get it at one point or another.. Thinking "I'll only be in for a few seconds, should be safe".

Now I am guessing.. I don't know what happened.. But then none of us do, so I supposed I should hold off on second guessing.
