Hi guys, I've been struggling with FedEx and my insurrance about my stolen Black Komodo Order Serial #KMDBK001964 deliver by FedEx and left at my front door and got stolen.

I just want to point out, if anyone sees a Black Komodo in the wild with that serial number: KMDBK001964.

Please contact me at: mirkoloko@me.com
I live in Montreal, Canada, and it looks like it's more and more common those days about stolen delivery.

Thanks for your time, and if you have any advice about what should I do more, please let me know.

I hate to hear that. Years ago, while I was out of town on a shoot, FedEx left one of my Betacams sitting on my front porch that had just been shipped back from repair(it was in one of the big silver Thermodyne "steal me" cases that said SONY down the side). There was lots of blame to go 'round for that(it wasn't supposed to be shipped to my house), but luckily for me, a relative in the neighborhood spotted it while walking and got a neighbor to help them get it.

I hope everything works out for you, and this doesn't help you this time, but you should never have equipment shipped to a location where someone can't sign for and secure it. I'm actually surprised RED or your dealer shipped it without it having a mandatory adult signature required for release. I never have equipment shipped to my house. You should consider using something like a UPS Store, FedEx Office or have it held at the distribution center, etc.

I would double check the shipping invoice and with your dealer or RED and see if it was shipped requiring a signature for release. If so and the driver left it anyway, FedEx may be responsible for the replacement cost.

I'd also keep an eye out on eBay, Craigslist, etc. A guy on another board, several years ago, had some Canon C series cameras stolen and at least one of them turned up very quickly on eBay in his general vicinity.

Unfortunately since covid a majority of Drivers are self signing packages. Even with Adult Sig required. But they still charge $7 for the service...

Man, that really sucks. FedEx has been pretty good about knocking and waiting to at least see me instead of just self signing and leaving them at the door. But they didn't even knock when they delivered my Komodo.

Hopefully they take responsibility at least.

Not wanting to sidetrack this thread and the OP's loss, but unless there has been some officially declared change disclosed in the term of service, this seems like a HUGE liability that they are opening themselves up to. Of course, when you start actually reading their "guarantees", they have more outs than exits at a movie theater.

I had an issue with FedEx a few weeks ago with them delivering my Ronin RS2. It was signed for upon delivery, but it was delivered to the wrong address. Fortunately they were able to retrieve it the next morning.

Hopefully the OP gets this straightened out without any additional financial outlay.
