We had a still photographer (Robert Alvarado) shoot EPIC for stills and motion at RED last week.

Sample.

wow! pretty sharp! what lenses? fstop? and more interesting what shutter speed?

I think he used a RED RPP 300mm at T4.0, 1/60 and ISO 800 for this shot. Pretty sure.

Jim

Not having troed the Epic, the 300mm is a favourite piece of glass.

Looks like you have a troupblesome time testing new gear, Jim...

I wish I was there... :-)

Point is... EPIC for stills.

A cross-processed look.

Very impressing!

If we are still in the testing stage... two things that bothered me in the first sample.

1. The edge of her left cheek is sharp in a weird way and has a yellow greenish tint in it.

2. It might be a makeup issue but the way colors change with the make up is to
manifested it leaves the "unpainted" areas with a yellowish green tint similar to the edge mentioned above.

I guess the point is that still photographers have a use for EPIC.

I heard about an issue with different color temps from different LED lighting. Maybe that's it? Or color grade?

Jim

The greenish tint is present in both shots and on her hair though, looks more like that's how it was lit rather than a problem with how the camera perceived it

Beautiful shots.

Pretty noisy. Must have pushed it a good bit from 800, especially for the second shot.

Grading and LEDs...

Green tint with LEDs... they have to fix that.

Jim

Pretty good!!!

One more question:

Is it possible add to Epic the Leica S2 system lenses that supposed to be one of the best glass ever made for professional still photography for fashion, architecture, etc,...(one of the highest MTF performance @ 5.6,...)

The new Leica lenses ROCK! But so does EPIC...
