Can anyone tell me how long it took to receive their M package ( recently) ?

Today was "DAY 10" of the "7 to 10 day processing period" and my Bomb Squad rep (who has been extremely nice and concerned- and always gets back to me either by email or telephone) just left me an email stating "I have received a response from our shipping department. They have stated that due to the high volume of orders they are currently fulfilling, processing times have been extended by a week or two on certain items. I am so sorry to make you wait, and rest assured that I will continue to follow up on the status of your order until it is in your hands. Have a lovely weekend, and expect updates from me next week." Whats, really funny is that 5 minutes earlier, i spoke to another sales rep who assured me that my package would probably be going out today or monday at the latest.... and then I got the dreaded email :(

Im very happy for RED that business is so robust, but very disappointed as a customer who dropped over 62 k on the package and Red Rocket, not to have been notified sooner of these delays. Not to mention - which "certain items" are delayed? Why doesn't RED post informative updates and delays on their site? It still says normal processing times are 3 to 5 days, not 7 to 10 or worse , 17 to 24 !!! I dont think that the holidays have anything to do with delays. I dont know any people who are sending epics as a christmas gift ;)

I feel bad for my rep as she really has been attentive to me and has to take my calls every day without being able to give me facts. Is there some communication problem between shipping and sales at Red? In any event, this would not be such a disappointment if only RED was managing customer expectations better. There is an old adage -under promise and over deliver. I want to be a loyal red customer. I want to be able to say the sales process was wonderful. I want the most technologically advanced camera on the market in my hands!! At least dont take the whole purchase amount and then make me wait and wait and wait. Take the deposit and the final payment when the goods are ready because surely there is another customer behind me in the line just as eager as me. The only silver lining i can come up with this is that the biz is dead here for the next 2 weeks and I will be sending time with my children and not really thinking about this situation... At least i hope so! To conclude, I expect much better information when i have laid out such big dollar amounts..But so far, i feel a bit like a chump.

Welcome to Reduser Nathaniel.

All I can tell you is Patience my friend. Red Co. is not your normal film/video camera company. You will get the camera at some point.

I paid for my Epic-X (3 to 5 business day processing period) and I got my camera 21 days later.

Thanks Christian for the info. I hear what you are saying but none the less it would be so easy to be honest with customers and keep them in the loop and for the price , I think customers deserve that....

Patiently waiting.... and waiting...and....

I paid for my EVF I got it 2 years later ... hehe
RED = patience is a vertue ... you should write this sentence on your desktop or your nerves will get worst each days

Nathaniel, we got a recent spike in M orders so, yes, processing times are a little longer right now. Our direct sales supervisor saw your post and will check into himself on Monday.

PS, please refrain from putting direct quotes from two-way communications between you and your rep (or anyone from RED) in posts.

Thank you for looking into the situation Brent... did not know about not posting quotes - I apologize .

hahahahha... same :)

I just feel lucky to have one. The problem is when you are desperate for it, the long wait feels like it drags out forever...

The old saying. "I watched pot never boils" :))

Two years would feel like forever to anyone, regardless of how desperate they were for the part. That's crazy long; new cameras get introduced and entirely new tech gets created (and delivered) in that time. I'm guessing the two years included the pre-order period as well, right?

As for your delay Nathaniel, I was under the impression that Epic-Ms are made when they're ordered - *by hand* - with a typical turn around of 5-7days, not that RED has a massive stockpile somewhere just waiting to be shipped. Because of that, it is understandable how delays like these can happen. The alternative is to cancel your order and back out now... but you probably won't want to do that :)

I think "M"s were just made as test mules and a get out of jail camera.
Even though they are hand made and you can get one in a week or two of ordering... the X if you can wait for it is the better / cheaper way to go.

The M is heavier than the X.. but thats about that... I'm hoping we can send our cameras back soon to get the lighter heat sync in.
