  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Still up for the color grade game?

Thank you Dave
I'm not a Colourist but I use Resolve to achieve this kind of look.
Here is a link where you'll find a very good tutorial done by Juan Melara on how to get to that look within Resolve:

Honestly everyone this information(LUT) has been available in these forums for quite some time. I joined reduser in january so I have been a busy bee. :)
Since I don't have a red yet, I took the liberty of getting exposed to the fundamentals of color/colour first before grabbing the camera. Here are a few more links.

Has Soderberg all over it :)

What is the original mood of the story?
As everyone is taking a stab at grading, I am seeing many different moods being conveyed.
Florin Danilov has good color, and the mood is "clinical."
Rami Mustakim conveys a "cold" mood with bluish tint.
Brett Harrison hints at an "upbeat" workplace with good color and a bright exposure.
Andre W. gives us a "flash back" look with the older magenta, faded photo look.
Antonio Fagundes shows us a "biological lab" look with the very yellow tint.

"The theme of the bit is kind of a mix of office space and matrix. An uninspired, unchallenged worker tries to dodge his boss and escape the office to find a better job and a better life."

I gave mine a little of the green look to feel more in the matrix style. I could always punch more green in there, push that boundary more.

Thanks Rami. You are a pro in my opinion. Your color grade is of exceptional quality. Well done.

I think Rami did an excellent job here. The blue-cyan split tone (and vignette) could be toned down a little, but those stills have a very unique and interesting look.

Thanks to everyone for their input. It has been a real eye opener. Will be shooting a couple more scenes for this project in a few weeks. Will be posting more r3d's then. Will be having some ext shots and our main character ending up in his dream job - so very different stuff to grade. Meanwhile (and while waiting for dragon stills to appear on the forum) every grade is appreciated!
