  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Still changing...

Now that's one nice-looking Scarlet!

One thing I notice: please make sure that VF mount is adjustable like really tool-free. I see you embrace that concept already, but those knobs look kinda small. I already hear those DPs scream... : )

Keep up the amazing work!

Hmm, I really like this color! Looks more retro, Leica esque! However, its not that discrete, is it? Hope you guys don't forget that this cam will be used in many documentaries, and its form factor would be ideal for those moments that need discretion (yes, no permits! :)

Make sure you guys make both versions available! (black and silver!)

I'm a showoff guy, so silver would be fine for me- please make this available this year! Pleasee!

Very nice thanks for posting....So I have to ask..... projected delivery date?

Dave

Jim,

Always surprises from you. When can we see actual prototype of Scarlet and Epic?

Can we've any chance of seeing on this NAB in any other booths since no Red Booth?

Will there be a way to adjust spacing between the VF and body for video use with added modules? Be nice if no external cables are needed for this config.
Also will it allow adjustment of tilt and rotation angles relative to the body? Looks like there might be a hinge at the top front from the render.

Just plain sexy.

Careful Jim, the natives are restless. You throw a bone out here with some meat on it and the horde made go crazy.

I really like that EVF. What resolution is it?

I'm curious, is this mockup really possible? You would at least have to have a battery module on there correct?

I know I am being picky, but I need to keep a good picture of this in my head!

Jay

Nice!

Do we have a ballpark figure of the weight of the Scarlet's? Specifically the S35 and FF35

I am buying a new Satchler FSB tripod and want to know if the 4 or 6 will do?

Sachtler 0373 FSB-4 up to 8.8 lbs (4kg)

Sachtler 0443 FSB-6 up to 13.2 lbs (6 kg)

Thx for the Render.

If I remember right, the new display were talked about being 1080. The handle mount (which is on that rig) is said to have a small battery in it for limited run time in said config.

Adam, those tripods might be a bit light.

Thx for the response.

I was under the impression that the scarlet was going to be on the smaller side? Do you think it will be over 6kg with Lens MB and Batt?

Next one up would be Sachtler DV-6 which has a payload of 9kg but is a bit over kill for my current "run and gun" which is a EX1.

In Brazil at the moment shooting a Doc in the favelas and thinking my old Vinten Vision 10 will need replacing after this gig.

I haven't seen any announcements for this type of small display panel in any technology exceeding 480p. Not to say it won't happen, small panels are a fast moving technology. At 480p a small EVF like this would exceed the spatial resolution of 96dpi common for the high quality printing, and individual pixels would not be visible to the eye at less than about 10x magnification.
