Just wanted to know the options available now for rigs? We re planning to shoot a "high" budget stereo feature later this year on red, any advices ?

second question : is there any 2k or 4k rigs existing for stereo handheld work?

Hello...I recently shot an around the world 3D "ride film" where we shot film (S-16mm and 35mm), and modified two Angenieux 5.9mm lenses (rehoused them) to work closer together for a smaller inter-axial distance (about 2.3") They will cover the full 2k cropped sensor on the RED, and I believe the full sensor on the SI-2K camera. These lenses are about the best wide angle made (for the focal length and physical size), and with the smaller housings, built by Paul Duclos, work well for stereo shooting on super-16 cameras or Digital. They are c-mount lenses but can be converted to Arri standard/PL, etc. We shot wild, through the woods snowboarding POV with the Photosonics S-16mm rig with these lenses. They are vailable for rent...PM me if you are interested.

Thanks, good luck with your project...shooting stereo is a blast!

PS Technik has one in development which should be ready soon.

The advantages are:
- that they have different sizes in the mirror system for different lenses
- the general weight is around 9kg which is excellent! I know they try to bring it even lower.
Good luck

I wonder how much that PS Technik 3D rig will cost. That's pretty crazy...$15K+?

The last I heard was 18.000.-EURO, which is about 27.000.-US$. Well I love their products, there are precise and of best quality, but I think also that this price is too high.
