step 1 work flow

I need to set up this mac for red and need to know the first steps. I completely unfamiliar with the RED camera and workflow. Also, the mac computer system I am working on is Mac OS x 10.5.2, Daul 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5 Processor.

What application is better for FCP 6.0.2, RED ALERT or CINE?

What work flow is best for 4k editing in FCP?

You need an intel mac, power pc doesn't work with red.

Well, you need to transcode on an Intel mac. You can do effects and editorial on your G5, you just can't use any RED software or native RED footage. Transcode to DVCPro HD for offline, edit, and then reconform on an Intel mac.
