  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Stella 359 weekend test

In REDCINE, Output settings can be view (screen) or image... jpeg or tiff. If you want 16 bit tiffs, make sure 10 bit or 16 bit is set on the video output side.

RED Alert! has more output options for stills...

Even in these small stills I can see a ton of blue noise in the blacks. I suggest you put your exposure at 320 and use the curve to bring up brightness on the right side while keeping the blacks more crushed.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the help.

Jim, this camera is AMAZING. The experience I'm getting now is what I always wished for when I first started shooting 35mm lens adapters.

I figured something out. There's nothing wrong with red cine, it must be my computer and preview. When I open it up in photoshop its totally fine. But here's a screenshot just so you can see what I was talking about. Any ideas to why this happens?

These were both exported 320asa as tiffs (earlier are 320 as well), then I exported from photoshop as jpegs. First is with no CC applied, the second is but only with redcine curves. I found the other controls too drastic...

JarredKrakow, I do see the blue noise also, it's pretty apparent. However, those are pretty weak fluorescent lights up there, & I was shooting wide open (2.1). So I didn't expect much, but I think it looks pretty good considering I just picked up the camera and started shooting with no lighting.

Thanks again Jim, I'm downloading the newest redalert.
