When working on project with budget I'd rather hire a steadicam operator but for the coming months, I have a special schedule and I'm looking for a lightweight steadicam option which I can use by myself.
I would use it with the Epic, side handle, touch screen and Canon wide angle with screw-in filters.
It needs to be easy to travel with.
Any advices?

Go for the Steadicam Zephyr and don't look back. Trust me, with the new arm improvements it is a fantastic affordable system.

Thanks Jake, I'll take a look at the Zephyr asap.

Just bought a Zephyr to use with the Scarlet - Works like a dream. Definitely go for a two day training course to get you started though!

Thanks Ben, good to know.
Did you get the whole kit? Arm+Jacket?

Yes, everything. The jacket from the Zephyr system is a HUGE advancement on anything 'below' it. The arm is also very important as it's tolerant of up to 10.4kg, which should give you enough play for most Epic setups.

We bought the SD Zephyr and bought a Decimator2 HD-SDI down converter, thereby saving ourselves about £2000! Total price was in the region of £7k.

Thanks for your answer and these infos Ben!

and the way you adjust the arm on the Zephry is killer. SO EASY!!

Cool Vincent!

They are great people, I know that they are extremely busy right now since they had a very successful SATIS trade show in Paris last week, plus one of them is pregnant and had to leave a lot earlier than planned.

The Zephyr is a great tool and I don't think You need something bigger for a simple EPIC setup, but it wouldn't be wise to go with something smaller.
