  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Status on Audio Board Upgrade Program?

Maybe this has been posted somewhere, but where are we in the upgrade process?

I'm #1545 and haven't heard squat. Wasn't this announced some time ago?

I'm #1389 and got the email on March 8th saying that they are now accepting cameras #1301-#1400 into the upgrade program.

Unfortunately, it will be a little while before my camera is free to be sent in. In fact, I'd imagine that it's many people being in the same position as me (unable to send the camera in straight away) that is delaying things a bit.

Hey Sam, thanks for the info! That's good to know. Seems we'll be coming up soon. If people aren't getting their cameras in, it seems they would keep moving down the list and backfill when they do come in.

Brent, why can't stuff like this be included in "the schedule" so people who haven't gotten the email have a clue about what's going on?

Sort of out of the loop

Sort of out of the loop

I've been out of the loop on the Audio Board. Is this for earlier cameras or is it for all. I have 4359. If this camera needs the upgrade, I expect it will awhile.

Not sure but I think your number is high enough that you don't need the upgrade.

Our camera #2121 already had the revised audio board and /i pins in it when it arrived in October 2008. Other than having a v2.0 CF module instead of v2.1 which our other cameras came back with, it should be current spec.

Bomb Squad, is my v2.0 CF module 16GB compatible or does it need to be v2.1?

Strange. We´re 2560 and as far as I know, we need the upgrade.
We´re shooting a documentary in British Columbia approx. May and need decent sound from the camera.
Nothing works right except LINE.
Brian, Brent, can you help ?

Same issue here, I just can't get the Sennheiser ME66 to work so I'ld need an MM1 or similar to get line sound.

If someone could check if this precise Mic works with the Audioboard upgrade?

Yes, our cameras definitely need the upgrade. I think it happened a couple of weeks after!

Yeah I'd like to know too. My camera is being ditched by rentals because it's not able to record to 16 Gb cards... effectively hurting my business. NOT good!
 
Ok guys,

The most current version of the CF Reader/Writer is 2.1. If you have anything lower than that, then you need the new version to work with 16GB Cards. If you need the most recent version of reader, then please email me bfair-at-red-dot-com.

If your camera was delivered after September 15th, 2008 then you have the most recent audio board. If you are not sure when you were delivered, you can shoot me an email and I can check.
