Sorry guys, I couldn't resist posting this. I was without a mattebox today, so I had to make one very quickly. and well, I'm a big fan of chocolate chip cookies, so.....

By the way, the footage looks great. Been filming in 95-105 degree temps the past two days with M-X and no problems with heat. Also, very tough sunlight and I'm happy with results. For those who don't know, the "sunspot" is gone with M-X.

Yes on the Manfrotto. http://www.filmtools.com/5298bhihat.html

The folding flat part works well if you need to recycle it someday. It's a bonus feature you get for nothing.

If I can get 20 or more of you in a group buy, the cost goes down to $1.99 plus free shipping.

The case it comes in is ingenious. Similar to the mattebox itself.

Still need to get this approved by RED to avoid any conflict of interest with their upcoming mattebox., but I suspect we will get cleared and an Epic version will be available in the future.

It's a multistage capable mattebox. Stay tuned for details....

There will be a Pro black version. It has a gaffer tape finish. Quite beautiful actually.

And not to spill the beans, but I might have an LCD hood in the works as well. I'll let you know when I'm ready to take deposits on that one.

I already have a working prototype called the Advanced Sunshade®! Comes in Paper Tape Black with a rigid Dasani Water box core and velcro tabs for easy connection. No back order here, I can make one of these puppies between takes with my eyes closed*.

*Subject to craft service cardboard supply.

Steve, Michael is stealing your thunder!

No worries, mine has a secret feature. It actually gets rid of the high pitched whine the LCD has when you go below max brightness. Okay, now who wants to order one?

Perhaps Michael and I will partner on this one. His is pretty snazzy.

Steve, you could do a blog full of Grip tips a'la Strobist.

Sorry Steve, I have to call "false advertising" on this. I don't know where you think a matte is going to go on this thing! This clearly NOT a matte box, it's a sun shade. (but it's a really 'sweet' sunshade...)
