We work on a lot of projects. Every year, we pick a couple projects that we get more involved with - that might be exchanging some services for equity in the project, it might be bringing producing resources to the table. These projects we put under our content banner OFFHOLLYWOOD PICTURES - something that is part of our long term plan for our company.

Most of time, these end up being great films that don't make much money because they don't see wide enough distribution. The exception being FROZEN RIVER (shot pre-red on Varicam) getting two Oscar nominations.

This year, we have a film that we got involved with that exceeded our expectations with respect to the film and the filmmaker.

That film is STAKE LAND and it will world premiere at The Toronto International Film Festival in the Midnight Madness program.

MPI Media Group/Glass Eye Pix in association with Offhollywood Pictures.

Directed by Jim Mickle.

This film was shot 100% on RED in 4K (pre MX) by DP Ryan Samul who has shot 3 features on RED with Offhollywood back-to-back.

Color grading started yesterday - this movie KICKS ASS and looks fantastic.

It's a horror film for "the art house crowd".

Hoping to have new teaser or trailer soon -

Director Jim Mickle first grabbed the attention of horror film fans with his zombie-rat thriller Mulberry Street, in which Damici also starred and served as co-writer. They have teamed up again to deliver an even darker and bloodier shocker. Drawing on the post-apocalyptic frenzy described by Richard Matheson (author of the novel I Am Legend) and George Romero, Stake Land is a road movie with fangs, similar in its phantasmagoric journey to Gareth Edwards’s Monsters (also featured in this year’s Festival).

Sounds like a good reason to attend TIFF. Maybe I will see you there.
