  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

STAGE 3 - EPIC-X for Sale

From research and experience I have concluded that you will get more responses by stating a price. For some reason most people will much more likely respond to that than "make an offer".

Cameras only eligible if invoiced by RED or having completed the official RED ownership transfer process on or before October 29, 2009.
I see this was posted before the Sept 3rd thread which explains much of the Stage 2 misunderstandings.

Will there be some some stage 3 "misunderstandings", around the corner?

You will get 17,500 credited from Red, when you transfer your REDONE to EPIC.

Wrong! Basically if you sell this camera to another individual, this camera is not eligible for stage 3.

i know this, i was reading it before, but there are options that are ok, like i pay and buy my Epic-X and then, ones its my camera i could sell it, like someone that was buying an Epic-M today, could sell it tomorrow if he wants to.
That's correct, once you get an Epic-X you can sell it immediately. Also RED has a procedure to follow if you want the transfer of ownership of your Epic-X to be validated by them.

What they don't want you to do is sell your Red One to someone, claiming that it's not actually sold but "leased."

To do it right, keep possession of your Red One and don't take any money before you receive the Epic.

Doesn't mean you can't find a willing buyer in advance, who's willing to wait, just don't try a grey area that technically doesn't break the rules but does go against the spirit of the offer.

You have to take delivery of the Epic X, then sell it, anything else & you risk loosing the upgrade offer. I can't think RED will be happy with any new lease to own deals, it's just taking the micky.

Once you've got your Epic-X in hand, along with the rest of the kit, and have confirmed what the buyer will be getting (for example: does the 1-year warranty transfer to them, do any further upgrade rights and queue positions, such as for Red Dragon, also transfer etc.), then come back and post it and I'm sure you'll get dozens of offers.

Warranty does NOT transfer!!
after it's been evaluated by red & you pay the $1000 transfer fee. You get a 90 day warranty.
