I just installed my SSD module on my Red One. It should be way faster than my original Red Drive and original Red 8GB CF card.

How come when I switch my red code to 42, I'm getting the media is too slow symbol?

I believe I have updated to the latest firmware.

did you format the media?
I get 16:9 redcode 42 or 4.5k redcode 42. I think that I remember that it said media too slow when I installed it first. You may have to go down to 2k, then format. Try that and then switch to 4k.

Media has been formatted and works fine at 4k 16:9 so long as I keep it to redcode 36. Redcode 42 no good.

So I've updated to build 30.7.0 and redcode 42 works in all resolutions and formats except for 16:9 4k 24fps and all 4k 30fps settings.

Is this normal? I was under the impression that the only bottleneck in Red One was the media?

OK. Thanks for that. I now see that full sensor 4K is conspicuously left out of the redcode 42 media support chart.

You are right guys, Redcode 42 is not supported on 4K 16:9. Redcode 42 was an option that was brought out after the camera was released and it pushes the limits of the internal processing. Red was very open about the fact that it didn't work with all settings when they released it.

We've had weird/funky things happen with our Red One and our footage while shooting Redcode 42. Problems virtually vanished once we moved back down to 36. Unless you know of a technical reason that you NEED Redcode 42 for post production, anecdotal evidence would indicate that really, you should just stay away from it.
