  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Square 3K

You can shoot 4K ANA (which is 1.2:1)... then crop 20%. This is in Build 15.

Yes there is a 3K and 2K ANA setting... all 1.2:1 (2x anamorphic).

For 60 fps you need to shoot 3K ANA.

Just a reminder... these are all new features never promised. At N/C.

Will there be support for 1:1.37 anamorphic (16x9 to 2.39)? I believe Hawk is making lenses for this format (I think). Anyone?

There was some discussion about that a while ago. The major question is whether it will unsqueeze when going to the monitor. If it does for 2:1 I don't see why it wouldn't for 1.37:1 either.

Does anyone know if it unsqueezes for preview for 2:1?

Thanks, Jim! I'm just happy that 2:1 is even supported now. I thought it was a long way off from being implemented.

We have a small LCD that unsqueezes for it so we'll just use that for the time being.
 
I believe (yet to receive ours) that the Carrion LCD monitor will unsqueeze anamorphic footage (any real world experience to back that up?)...
 
one of the nebteks unsqueezes as well. Ours will too.. eventually.
