Springhead? Anyone know what this is?

So I was watching a behind the scenes video and reading and article about the cinematography in the TV show Homeland (great use of subtle handheld look). Well it turns out that they really don't use handheld rigs that much and instead use something that mounts between the sticks, and the fluid head, called a spring head. Anyone know what this is or who makes it? I tried to find info online but there is little to no info. Any help is appreciated.
