Generally which is a more versatile option if you had to choose one?
Considering the LightStorm 1s vs 1c in addition to some LED ribbons I have.

You'd really want both I would have thought. Hard to do much with only one of those options. If there were absolutely no choice I'd go with spotted fixtures, because they at least give you the option of using diffusion to spread the beam - something you can't do in reverse.
