Special OMOD IBC / CINEC 2016 BUNDLES

Hello,

I don't understand this bundle : COMMAND RT & Latitude-Sidekick Bundle #1. As it has two lens/FIZ modules, the one built int the Command RT and another one on the Sidekick. Can you explain what it could be used for?

Pat

Pat - that is actually a mistake!!

This is what happens when you try to work during a trade show!!

I'm pulling the COMMAND RT deals down - and fixing them so they bundle the Smart Knob, etc.

Anything for those who want a single motor RTmotion 3.1 kit?

I ordered a single motor kit for $4230 and a OMOD Command RT + for $5999. I don't need 3 motors, don't need the Sidekick, don't really need the Smart knob. The Command RT + has almost everything the Latitude Sidekick does. And if I have a mk3.1 handset and a Thumbwheel I don't really need the Smart knob.

OMOD COMMAND + RTmlotion/PRYOR Technik's Sidekick-Latitude + Wooden Camera D-Box (Weapon) is such a bad ass kit config.

I understand the desire by many folks for a "uni-body" camera - like Jarred & Matt's RANGER Helium camera, Fincher's Xenomorph and the Panavision DXL. But ... I'm telling you right now ... when you have some solid options to transform the size and functionality of your camera in minutes - it's very empowering. It's like have several different cameras ... from one brain.

I think it was always the vision of RED ... but I never really felt it in an exciting way until now. And this is really ... just the beginning ...

Why can't you use RED's new Side Handle on top of the Sidekick-Latitude if you can use RED's sidekick? Aren't the connections the same?

You're right. Technically it should communicate fine. I believe they are just being caution of fear of damaging the camera, side handle or Sidekick with too much torque.

This is pretty accurate. Engineers have to look at both mechanical, electrical and functional risks. And just because it is possible - does not mean it is in the best interest of keeping the camera working correctly. There is no other camera manufacturer that has EVER done 3rd party hardware integration like this. It's all much more complicated than it looks. So ... just recognize that these engineers at RED are tasked with the impossible - and as much as they want to make everyone happy - they also need to make sure the cameras are stable and protected as it is in the best interest of customers.

Great, but, is there a physical difference that doesn't allow to mount the side-handle if you can mount the sidekick? Because if there isn't, people will do it :D

Also, it should be stated that these 2 don't work together well, on RT motions product description.

The camera knows what electronics are attached. It's knows when you have been naughty or nice.

On that note I think the POE XLR will work better for me :)

I can't find any info about weight on this module. How much does it weight?

Thanks :)

Hi Mark

The module that most interest us is the Comand + (XLR with 3BNC etc)... there doen't seem to be much news about if it is it still coming?... it would be our SXT on steriods moudule if you like. If it is still comming can you possibley tell us the weight?... thanks!

Yes that is coming - but that unit will ship in January/February as I need to ship the XLR and POE XLR units first.
