These PMs are coming from randomly created accounts. Dozens, possibly hundreds of them. Not a whole lot can be done until site security can be upgraded to thwart these automated registration and spamming systems....

I know, it sucks.

The two validation questions are always the same, making it easy for a spammer to write a script to make new accounts.

Someone somewhere must have created a Captcha plug-in for the message board software Reduser uses.

Also, it would be great is new members had to have a minimum number of posts before they could send PMs.

I don't think simply requiring a number of posts would do the trick; the spammer would just create bogus posts as well.

What we need, what we've needed all along, is a requirement that all new members posts be approved by a mod before they go up. That will completely eliminate the spam and act as a troll catcher.

Real humans.

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

I noticed the spammer was not a real name account either. Isn't that required to set a new account?

On linked in, in order to join various organization networks you need to be approved as being an individual that is in fact part of a certain industry. Takes about 24 hours to be vetted in. Seems like something like that would help here, much like Leo suggested.
