  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Sound for the Fixed Lens Scarlet

Hey everybody, what kind of microphone would you buy if you wanted your Scarlet fixed ready to shoot handheld without much gear around it (like rods, handle etc). Just the way it will (assumingly) be sold.

How expensive are the miniXLR to XLR cables?

(Also assuming that the camera will have phantom power, of course)

Please take into account that people might have maxed out their credit cards with the Scarlet pretty much :Angel_anim: So the mic should not cost like 1/4 of the camera. :)

Considering the mike will go ON the camera, I'd say a RODE NTG2 could be what you're looking for. I got a brand new one for 185 Euros a couple of weeks ago.

No need to spend a lot of money for a microphone that is supposed to sit on the camera. I've seen some fouls buying the finest Sennheiser's just to end up lamenting on the quality of the sound...I guess they never sorted out what the guy with the pole was doing when they watched Behind-The-Scenes material...
