Hi all. . .

This clearly isn't RED-related, but I just had to post. I purchased an SD 788T (actually, I ended up with the first one in the country back in May!) to record the double-system sound for our RED-shot film. It did a great job on that score.

But last night? Well, I recorded an amazing eight piece choral group here in Kansas City in a live concert. And talk about a light-weight set-up! I brought in one Royer SF-24 stereo ribbon microphone, the 788T, a mic stand, and a pair of headphones, and that was it.

And the result?

WOW! I loved it. It sounds utterly amazing!

Bottom line. . . that 788T is an amazing piece of kit. . . and more than able extremely high fidelity audio in any setting. I highly recommend it!

Still love my 744 and it's my go to for when I need high fidelity audio recording on video shoots and also when I just want to grab some cool sounds. Clean mic pres, lots of routing options, etc. Never tried the Cantar but always wanted to.

hi guys
I purchased the 788t, too. And I love it. But i also like the cantar. It's just the price man. I love them both. Right at the momnt i shoot a documentary just out of the bag in combination with the 442. It's pretty cool. I also can just recormand these recorder.
Cheers Chris

It is so incredible that they fit that much functionality in that small of a package. It really is a beautiful piece of electromechanical artwork. CL-10, unbelievable)

(I really lusted after a Cantar, too, but in the end, I just couldn't justify the cost. I ended up going with the Nagra VI - but the 788t was a very very close 2nd.)
