Good day . I know that it is not right place to post but i need your help .
We where shooting project 4.5K on 16GB CF Cards . On Production time i found that i have few may be damage cards , and some footage is with very strange drop frames . Then i found that it is computers problem , after coping of files with R3D i was getting error . On other computer i copy process was good .
Now i have few takes that i need to use . Please help me with recommendations how to fix this R3D files .
When i render files from RedCine i am getting error that some frames (5-9 ) are damaged .
Please check attached frame , may be some body knows how to fix this problem .
Thanks .

With RocketCine i can not render this files . After damage frame all other frames are like this .
With RedCine and Without RedRocket i can render TIFF files (putting IN and OUT ) before and after drop frame
With RedCIne and RedRocket support i can not render TIFF Files .

Its impossible to trouble shoot this without a lot more information. I would try to run Redundead on the files and you might be able to restore.

What do you mean by "damaged" cards?
how did they get damaged?

is the original media formatted already? if so have they been written on. if the media is still on there, i'd re transfer with a new cf reader. bad cf readers can cause corrupt frames more often than it being the cf card itself. if it's formatted, and nobody wrote on it yet, use redundead to recover the footage.

if the frames are corrupt, they are corrupt. only way around it is to in and out before you have corrupt frames, export that and in and out the rest of the clip after the corrupt frames. RCX used to render out a clip regardless of bad frames, switching to older builds to try to do it might help too.

All CF Card are formatted . It is to late to recover . Older builds of Red Cine ?

How i need to use RedUndead if files are on RAID . Sow can i copy this files back to CF Card and try like this ?
Because as i found RED Undead can not work with File , it works with media only . Any ideas .

Hi Vigen,

The screenshot looks like the data has been copied incorrectly due to a bad CF reader or firewire cable.

If you still have the original 16GB CF cards please run REDundead on them with a good CF reader & firewire cable to see if you can recover the clips. It does not matter if you formatted the card, the files should still be there, unless you have recorded on those CF cards after the format.

Which version of REDCINE-X you use should make no difference because there are errors in the R3D file due to a bad copy. If you cannot run REDundead on the original CF cards then you will have to use the IN OUT process to get as many good frames as you can. It may be easier to use REDLINE (included with REDCINE-X) in that case if you know how to work with a shell.

I'm sorry, but it is not possible to get the good data back from bad data if you have reused the CF cards. For this reason it is always good practice to check all the footage before you recycle the magazines and use something like R3D Data Manager with good hardware (like the RED CF readers you can find in the store).

Thanks for help .
Can i copy files back to RED CF cards and then use RED Undead ?

Finally problem was with computer (Can not understand what was problem , may be memory ) . We change CF Reader ( 2 time ) All cables , External Drives everything .
And we use R3D Data Manager . Then final idea was to change computer . With new computer we did not get any drop frame , or bad footage .
Problem is that we have few Takes like this .

Thanks for help .

Sorry, you need the original media as is. If you copy it back that will overwrite the original files.
Even if you recorded again on the media, I would recommend running redundead as the
clips you need might not have been recorded over.
