Noticed Oakley is listed as a supporter of SOPA, does that include RED or are you guys just staying out of that debate all together?

And eventually they will get that control. If not now, then the future. It will happen.

oakley is no longer affiliated with red. it was bought for 2.1 bill by some other big company years ago that also makes ray-ban glasses.

ah ok cool, I didn't know if jim was still involved or not. I would think a camera company who makes tools for artists would try to be neutral in this stuff

censoring the web.. the united states of china...

Been to China, Zakaree?
You can hardly buy a legal DVD there, the market is so saturated with fakes.
There's far more tolerance of piracy there by government than the US.
Almost impossible to get a US movie shown there though due to the genuine censorship of the quota system, though.
How is fighting piracy censorship?
How does that impede free speech?

Some Rottweiler company or DA will attempt to use the full extent of this law at some point, if it passes.

The Net Gods will refuse to comply with the takedown notice or whatever they get issued - this crap could break the internet.

It'll wind its way through the courts, end up in the SC - and they will tie a can to it and give it a decent burial.

Nothing to see here folks, move along.

Mike

my point is.. its not about "piracy" that is simply the EXCUSE.. piracy will exist internet or no internet.. its about control...

there is a current loss of control.. and without getting political about this... they are trying to shut it down so real information doesn't get out to the public..

internet as it stands is free.. uninterrupted, un controlled speech..

REAL news.. not this manufactured corporate media which is a complete joke

If SOPA passes, I'll lose my last bit of faith for humanity.

Those who want Big Government, want SOPA to pass. It is a fraud, it is the thin edge of the wedge in their effort to control the internet. The attempt by the Government and the UN to make internet access a human right is also a guise to obtain Government control on the internet.
