As title says, have my scarlet and accessories on order waiting for my bank wire-transfer to clear on RED's end. Can't be more happy to get this camera! had a quick question for anyone who did the bank wire transfer option, how long did it take for you to get a cleared payment from RED (especially those who have wells fargo as their bank)? My bomb squad rep told me it could take up to several days for the payment to clear...

Wells Fargo changed their transfer policies since my order so I can't speak to the current state of affairs, but my payment cleared within three days during the holidays.

@scott, thanks for the info! Im actually banking with wells fargo and they told me when I went to do the wire transfer they said it should be in there same day before end of day. So either the banker..(god willing it didn't happen) messed up the wire transfer, or im stuck waiting for it to clear for another few days which would seriously suck for me because I had to wait 2 weeks for the last check i needed to order my scarlet and accessories to clear because they put a hold on it.

Right, and it can take Red a day to process it and a day to get it out the door. In a few business days you should be rockin'.

What I had done was an internal transfer, so I paid no wire fee. I thought it might be faster, but nothing is faster than same day. ;-)

Congrats and Enjoy!

Thanks man! Sucks I had no choice to do the transfer on a thrusday! Have to wait the weekend now before anything starts processing! I definitely look forward to enjoying my first red camera!:-D

I'm in the same boat ... there is something about RED ... where I am as impatient as a 5 year old that has woken up early x-mas mourning, every time i order a camera ;)

I do think the the wire processing times have increased to days instead of minutes, also seems to be longer holds on checks, is a pain in the butt ... nothing RED can do about it since it's the banks.

For the future, I'd suggest using a credit card, it's instantaneous. As a bonus, most Gold and Platinum cards double the warranty on any new items bought for <$10,000. If your credit limit isn't high enough for the purchases, AFAIK you can make an extra payment to the credit card first so you have a credit balance on the account. Also as most credit cards are issued by large banks, I bet they are set up so payments to credit card companies go very smoothly, unlike to a relatively small company like Red

Thanks Werner for the suggestion but I don't have that good of credit just yet for the amount I spent (my wifeand kiddies have seen to that;-)...haha) all kidding aside though I'm in the process of switching banks and have declined getting a credit card through my bank that has consecutively screwed me over on many occasions! I'll probably be getting one through my next bank though its one most people I know use and have never had a problem with!

@Patrick: I know exactly how you feel about the camera ordering! I almost felt like a 3 year old wanting to throw a temper tantrum when I found out it would be another day or two before they got a cleared payment! At this point ill be like getting it for Christmas mind you an early christmas present;-) and ill feel and probably look like the kid that got the N64 off YouTube! http://youtu.be/nhWLtii3dEo
;-D(note to self may have to recreate that video but instead of an N64 it's a RED Scarlet-X with accessories!!!!)

Chris, I think you didn't completely get my suggestion. Assume you're planning to spend $10,000 on Red purchases (I assume you have the $10,000 as you are planning to wire it). Unfortunately your credit card limit is say $1000. AFAIK, if you pay the $10,000 to the credit card, you now have $11,000 spending power on that credit card. The credit card co. will like it as they get about 2%, and you may get an extra year of warranty

werner, sorry completely went over my head what you were saying about the AFAIK! I will definitely consider doing that next time I make a larger order from red!
