Sony SCL-PK6/F CineAlta MKII | PL Cinema Lenses (6x Lens Kit) + Custom Case

This listing is for a complete, and well-kept set of Sony CineAlta MKII cinema lenses in PL cine lens mount. Imperial markings. Excellent condition. These lenses were incredibly underrated and they are now out of production. Search for these lenses right here on this forum and see what fellow RU's think of them. Also, Google search for the Kamerawerk lens report. Across numerous tests, these lenses score higher than Cooke S4's and even the ARRI Ultra Primes.

PRICE: $12,500 (OBO)

Package includes:

• Sony CineAlta MKII (PL) 20mm T2.0 w/ Front + Rear Caps
• Sony CineAlta MKII (PL) 25mm T2.0 w/ Front + Rear Caps
• Sony CineAlta MKII (PL) 35mm T2.0 w/ Front + Rear Caps
• Sony CineAlta MKII (PL) 50mm T2.0 w/ Front + Rear Caps

Very GENTLY used. NO optical defects. NO lens scratches. NO abrasions or lens problems. Excellent and smooth mechanics. Very minor blemishes on metal lens housings. Includes a proper flight case.

A friend of mine has these lenses so I've been able to test them a few times. Like you mentioned they are excellent for the price. Great balance of sharpness and character. Seems to be an underground following developing as they become harder to find. Good luck with the sale.

Agree! Here's the analysis done by Kamerawerk:
https://kamerawerk.ch/data/images/300_cinematography/Lenstest_Kamerawerk.pdf

If you jump to the last page of their test, it says: "Contrast performance, sharpness and chromatic aberration are equal if not even better compared to its competitor lenses Cooke S4, Arri Ultra Prime or Zeiss Compact Prime. As illustrated in the figure above, SCL 135mm, 25mm and 20mm actually show best mean MTF characteristics of all lenses! All together, we have to say, Sony SCL lenses are a fantastic choice, for a low price!"

I have the original version of these. 3 piece 35 50 85 are the plastic versions while the 20, 25, 135 are the metal versions. Excellent lenses and while there is some concern on the longevity of the plastic versions, the lightweight is kind of nice. So far pretty impressed - does anyone know if the optics are the same in the plastic versions?

Optics are indeed the same.

The plastic bodies just make them impossible to fix

The original plastic bodies were a big misstep. I'm convinced that's why these lenses were initially overlooked. By the time Sony released the MKII with metal housings (which these are), they missed the launch buzz. Super underrated lenses.
