Sony FX9 - Wow

Fx9 issues I had with my 1st FF cine

Fx9 issues I had with my 1st FF cine

Fx9 is a great camera and its the best IQ I ever shot with. But as a wedding shooter sometimes when testing there was funky green blovking. Now when I 1st heard about this I thought prob some vtg lense with bad CA. But then I tested shooting backlight shots. And this funky green outline was happening. This was on the new 24mm GM.. the 35zeiss f1 4 ZA. 85mm GM.. 135mm GM.. now i use the Auto ND. Which is Amazing and best part of camera w AF. But for $11k I decided to send it back and see if it gets fixed via firmware. Sony is aware of the issue.
Also Fx9 not having raw yet. Won't til October. And no Dci 4k. Ill wait til update in October. If you don't shoot into the highlights the image is ssuperb. The firmware update coming Oct 2020 will make camera alot better. Hope they fix green macro blocking issues.

Meantime I got A7siii to hold me over and may choose to go w a 6k Red Komodo for half the price of the Fx9.

All I know is $12k is alot of $$ and it was something I couldn't live with. As I shoot alot into backlight..

This debayer artefact tipically happens also on a R3D (and on all CMOS) when some highcontrast/colors are present in the picture and the debayer isn't set to full.

I've encountered this issue today during prep and it's really concerning me going forward this weekend. I'm attaching an image of what I've seen from the quick test.

Has anybody else had this issue? What can be done, and has anybody spoken to Sony?

B
