If you are a Sony EX1 or EX3 shooter, you might really want to read this. This solution has been fully tested and confirmed to be working 100% on the cameras.

Now you can have a FULLY WORKING $100 16GB Express Card for your EX1/EX3 camera. This compared to Sony SXS card for $ 1200 each.

Owned. Are 16GB SxS cards really that expensive? What a joke.

Abel has tested this and it does function. But be aware of two issues. One, the cards are not capable of all speeds that the camera can handle (no slow-mo). And more importantly, the physical interface of the little card into the adaptor is not particularly robust, so it can dismount easily while shooting handheld. Sure a bit of tape may work fine for most situations, but I wouldn't do it for any mission-critical real-paying work.

But yes, it is rather amazing that it works as well as it does.

I beg to differ. It does work with slo-mo. Just not ALL slow-mo. It works fine for 720p/60, and it works for overcranking in 1080p up to about 40-42fps. Beyond that, it fails. The solution most seem to be using, is loading up a stock SxS card for 1080 overcranking, and using the new KxS solution for normal shooting. Undercranking is not affected.

This remains to be seen. I've not heard of a single instance of it happening among the many shooters on the popular forums. Many are run and gun / event / wedding shooters who are running to catch shots every week or in some cases, daily. Not saying it couldn't happen, but empirical evidence seems not to support it.

hahah...on the other hand, I find it amazing that Sony gets away with overcharging for their accessories as much as they do.

Hey Tom, why are you using South Pacific Peso (a.k.a. Aussie dollars) in your picture? You would need a much bigger pile of them...
