  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Sony A7r II - 4K internal want this!!

Already saw that. It also confirms that the A7RII will be somewhat clean at 6,400ISO as opposed to the A7S which can be pushed further. The new Sony 8K cinema camera will use the sensor from the A7RII so it will not be as clean as the A7s... So that means the new Sony 8K cinema camera will not be as clean as the A7s without some major in body noise reduction.

Seems to be about a couple stops between them. I'll have both next week to verify that for myself. Curious to see how the A7 footage cuts with Dragon / Weapon. Exciting times for a gear slut

I think the ISO range is perfectly fine. One thing that has seriously disappointed me more is that with a Sony native OSS lens and 5 axis steady shot on, I still find there is a steppy quality to the motion when you pan around. I have tried shooting 60 and then slowing it down but that slows the stepping down and makes it kinda worse. So to me, the thing that one really wants this to be - a cool little handheld run and gun is a bit hobbled. Have others experienced this too?

The Kenko NDX variable ND is quite good. Good skin tones. Only artifacts I can notice is closing full down on very wide angle lenses (19mm & 20mm).
