Does anybody know how audio is output from the Sony SRXR210? They don't mention anything about audio on the page on the site. And from what I know everything is contained in the same file, which is stored inside the projector itself, so it has to have some kind of output.

It's a digital cinema projector. It has nothing to do with audio. You're confusing a projector with a digital cinema server. They're two different things.

Except that particular model says that its an "all in one" design, so it does include the server element a.k.a media block.

I guess another question could be does anybody know any Digital Cinema Servers that can play out 4k instead of scaling 4k to 2k like the Dolby Servers do. Either way would work, it was just that the only true 4k server I could find is built into the projector on the SRXR210 and SRXR220 models.

It is correct that the media block is "buildt in", but that doesn't mean it is an integrated part of the projector or a Sony product/media block.

Owner of a Cine Alta 4k PJ can chose any media block suited to their needs.

As for the audio; call Doremi Labs and ask, they say they have 4K ready media block/servers for the new 4K DLP projectors coming out next year, the same say's GDC Technology, and I'm shure others will have them too, just google.

I also doubt that the Audio output will change between 2K and 4K media blocks.

Both of those companies 4k servers are listed as 4k (playback resolution 2048 x 1080), Dolby Digital's servers have the same thing.

So they can decode and play 4k but down-rez to 2k for output. The Doremi Labs DCP-2000 does list true 4k output as an option.

Of course they are not listed.
The other links I provide should have told you that.
4K playback doesn't have a standard for media blocks yet, even if there are some Sony 4K projectors installed in cinemas, they all play 2K features upconverted to 4K.

If you provided some more information on the background for why you are researching this it would have been easier to answer.

Looking to do an out door film "festival" showing out-of-exhibition films, in 4k, 2k and HD depending on the film and if I can get a 4k copy (from film scans or whatever). The problem has been finding licensing info. and what not. I found this place; http://www.mplc.org/index.php, but I need to get in contact with each production company to ask about higher quality copies than just SD DVD or BluRay.

I have a list of all the films and their production companies, but can't find anything about licensing or business contact info. All the production companies websites are strictly targeted to consumers (with some production services).
