Guys,
Does anyone have any experience of the Sonnet Fusion RX1600 RAID units, and/or the expanders? We're looking for options for immediate access archive, and because of the nature of some of our work, the boss doesn't want to be retrieving from tape all the time, so the thought is to keep the last 18-20 months footage in live archive, being LTO'd after that. We mainly use Adobe Premiere Pro on Creative Cloud - sometimes Resolve for grading, at the moment its all non-RAW HD/4K material, but we're acquiring two Weapon's shortly, hence the need to look at four or five 96TB RAID units/expanders. Our main edit suite will be PC-based when these come into use.
EDIT: Should have added that when these (or whatever system we end up with) comes into use, it will be with 6K R3D files, moving to 8K when the Weapon's are upgraded. Real time full res playback would be great - but minimum render times is the main priority.
I'd be interested to hear any other options if nobody is using these....
Thanks
Richard
