  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So I have read a lot of peoples troubles with the Sonnet Esata ExpressCard adapter. I ham having some successes but more failures.

This is my dream. Please someone set me straight if what I am hoping for is completely unreasonable.

I would like to connect my hardrive to one port on the Sonnet Esata card and I would like to plug in an Addonics port multiplier to the other port and plug both card readers into that. Thus I would be able to copy two cards at one time and go and have dinner while the copy happens.

So far all that has worked has been in Snow Leopard 10.6.8 (I have the card initialization problems in Lion)
What does work well is one Red Station to one Hardrive (Gtech Mini Raid 0). This gives very fast speeds.

I CANNOT plug two red stations in and transfer to a FW800 drive- slows down to almost nothing after starting quickly. I have similar issues when trying to use the port multiplier- it starts blazingly fast and then gets REAl slow.

Dynex card work in Sl 10.6.8 but with the same issue. I cannot plug both stations in and copy at once. It is like Esata cant handle more than one data stream- is this possible?

Thanks in advance
