Any issues working mobile with a RED Rocket?

i assume it works flawlessly...

Thanks paul, have a sale pending now..

I'm testing our new Sonnet echo express pro enclosure with the Redrocket and it seems that it only works at 4x (as opposed to the 8x the redrocket requires to operate at maximum capacity) is there any way to fix this? I've read that thunderbolt connection is limited to bandwidths of 4x and there's nothing I can do to improve it. Confirm/deny?

The red rocket only uses x4 lanes for transcoding, you will not get better performance by using x8 lanes, whether it's used in a Mac Tower or Macbook Pro with a PCI-e enclosure such as a Sonnet or Magma Case. The main limitation or bottleneck of most systems is the I/O of the drive/s used for transcoding, You'll see a vast improvement in rendering performance if you use a SAS raid vs a single volume external drive.

But it tells me in an error message when starting RedCine that it's in a 4x slot and should be in a 8x slot for best performance. Is that not in regards to transcoding? Does that only apply to playback?
