Hi there guys, ok here is the deal, we bought everything needed for a super fast raid among other things and the project never got off the ground
here is some of the stuff that needs to go, priced to sell quick
Areca ARC-1221X 8-port PCI-e RAID Controller
After much research it turns out this is one of the best and fastest cards on the market today, compatible with all versions of OS X including 10.5.6
brand new in the box, not even opened, if you have any questions please call the guys at timeline digital (which is where we bought it from) they are super knowledgeable and they advised this card above anything else, according to them this card should do 500-600 mb/s per second read on a raid 5 configuration.

Next on the list is a good as new 1TB external hard drive from mac sales, its a quad interface meaning that it has ports for eSATA/FW800/FW400/USB2
this was only used once, and it was used to transfer large amounts of data from one computer to another, eSATA connection is going to be the winner here although FW800 is not bad on this drive either, these hard drives are very very reliable, and mac sales is one of my fav online stores, plus it comes with a 5 year warranty.
