I didn't want to post this in "Shot on RED" section, since that seems to be only actual "projects" on there. There isn't very much 4K footage on YouTube, and I like watching these by other users, just to see RED footage! I know it's just boring "slider footage" but I wanted to take my RED One MX out for a spin!

I tried to get more "cinematic" colors and brightness.

Let me know what you think.

Some "BTS" shots of my setups

Very nice. What slider did you use?

Youtube description : Rhino Slider PRO 4ft

Great shots ! Especially the one at 0:28. Which glass for this one ?

I have the same glass as you (Except the 35 and 85), is the 35 really usefull when you have the 24 and 50 ?

did the rhino slider hold up well with way more than the 5 pound weight limit on it? Own a RED One MX myself and looking at slider options besides a kessler pocket dolly

I used the Rhino Slider PRO:
http://rhinocameragear.com/store/camera-sliders/rhino-slider-pro-4ft

The slider itself is great, and can hold up to 45lbs. The problem was getting a tripod head on it that works well. You need to connect one that has a 3/8" base, so mostly low end ones. I use a Manfrotto 502HD head for the slider only. (Manfrotto 509HD for normal 100mm tripod use)

With that in mind, with how heavy the camera is, you can get great slides without it sticking, but you can't really pan during the shot as well. How I got some of those shots is that I tilt the slider down on one end slightly, so it would change the angle as it slid down the slider. It's not 100% smooth as butter, but I used warp stabilizer to take out any small jitters.

Overall, great slider.

If someone knows something that can convert the base of the slider to accept a 100mm bowl, so I could use the 509 head on it, that would be even better! (I think I've seen something like that before)

I did sell my Red One MX, and will have a Scarlet Dragon in my hand soon. Should see some more slider footage with that!

Bit off topic but is that a smallhd ac7? If so iv got one but have connection problems with my RedOne. It's HDMI only.
Great footage! Crystal clear!

Yes, that is the AC7 LCD, SDI version, but I have it hooked up through HDMI in those pics, no problem. I have heard people that have issues, it's the cable, and the version. Try another HDMI cable, 1.4 version, to make sure it's not a "version" issue of the cable.

Ahh brilliant thank you I shall try this. Think it's down to the length as well as I see your using a short cable as the ones iv tried are at least 1.5m+.

Just because there are newer models available, doesn't make the R1 any less great. Awesome footage. Awesome camera.

Thanks! I have since upgraded to a Scarlet Dragon however! :)

My Dragon has so far made this:

And is currently being used in FND Film's new feature film! (More details on that project coming in the next month or two).

(And yes, that opportunity came from the fan video, being my first paid film project!)
