Hello,
I am a fanatic amateur nature filmer. I am searching for a new camera. Looking at the newest HDSLR's, at prosumer camcorders of pan and canon and at the SCARLET, since interchangeble lens systems from other brands are much moreexpensive.

What is important for me is
1 be able to create good slowmo's
2 pre record, preferably more than the 3 seconds that you can find on consumer cam's
3 interchangable lenses
4 full hd shooting and editing

I see that I can record up to 120 fps. That is fine. And that the Scarlet will have the cinema with interchangable lens system. But of the other features I cannot find clear information.
Will I be able to shoot 1080i or 1080p?
Will it have a mode in which there is continous cache recording? How many seconds will be recorded before the push of the record button.
Lastly, how and when can I order the cam?

Thanks,
Rob

Yes, Ted comfirmed it in the SU podcast, and Stuart also reiterated it

I remember them mentioning it, and if not implemented in the first release, I'm sure a firmware update can do that easily

Deposits, from pure speculation, will probably be taken 1-2months before Scarlet is released...

I didn't think RED was going to take deposits. I thought it would be first come, first serve.

There'll be deposits. There's no way they'll be able to meet demand initially. There'll have to be some form of line, even if they're already shipping product.

120 fps will only be available shooting in 3k raw mode though, not 1080p.

But you can resize it to 1080P while importing into your editing software (or directly in the camera but I don't remember if they mentionned something like that)
