  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Software that will detect broken/corrupt frames

jamie,
again, i fully understand you. I guess you couldnt test the cam on the MoCo, right?
i dont want to sound insulting, but why didnt you insisted to check the footage after that MoCo take?
as i say, i would love it too.

Alexa is in Germany very very popular and eats a lot of red's market
but this has other reasons too.
there is the joke that a red is looking like a xmas tree when configured cinestyle with all the cables and boxes (lockit, downconverter, canatrans, c-motion etc, d-tap adapters.)
AC's and DPs love Alexas body, menu and easy plug design of the Alexa.
this why i hope for a cinemodule on Epic

Cuneyt:

The camera that dropped the frames was on sticks at the time.

I don't need you to help me troubleshoot a problem from 2 months ago. Help me get red to listen to and to implement Dropped frame notifications on camera and in RC-x.

whoops,
sorry.
get the dropped frame reader into rx!

It would be nice to get something from Red to notify you which clips have dropped frames, via metadata. That way it could highlight these clips differently in RedCine-X so we know where to start looking.

Of course with SSDs there's less chance of this happening but knock suppression aside, data corruption could occur for a host of other reasons that still need to be highlights for post-production people to be aware of.

Cheers,

Paul

Second what Paul says. I try to swap mags right after it happens (if I'm aware of it or an AC tells me about it), so then I know it's at the end of a clean break, but things aren't always that tidy on set, as all know.

Yes, please!
